Just curious as to how many cigar lovers are also pipe lovers? I just won a bid on a nice pipe on ebay, and never noticed, but was sad to see that the pipe forum was abandoned with the new version of SC... Just curious who else smokes pipes and cigars, and which do you smoke more of?

I've got a couple pipes (nothing fancy).
I smoke more cigars than pipes....although i get streaky at times.
As with cigars, if you are just starting out with a pipe I'd suggest experimenting with different types of tobacco.
Do yourself a favor and grab a corn cob pipe or two to smoke the aromatic tobacco in.

I recommend the "Missouri Meerschaum" brand corncob. Nice price, look good, and they've been making them for years. I have a couple for camping and one for flavored tobacco. They mellow out the flavor of whatever you're smoking and burn relatively cool.
I'll hunt down the link... Although some B&M's carry them or will order them for you.

I like a pipe every once in a while, a lot cheap to buy and ounce fo pipe tobacco than a cigar. I only have a cheapie, one fo the Ozark mounatian ones on that link. So far my favorite blend is Nick's special blend form Nicks cigar shop in Myrtle Beach (big surprise, I lik somthing from MB)

I enjoy a pipe every now and then, although I prefer the strong smoke from a cigar.
Probably a dozen lovely pipes in my collection, and enough pipe tobak to last my lifetime. Much of it is five years old. Wish I had more time for puffing, these days.

Local shops around here also have dozens of types house blended tobacco (they even sell corncob pipes there).
Local tobacconist offered me a "free" bowl of any of their house blended tobacco. He knew I'd end up buying a couple ounces and be a return customer (he was correct).
I've seen el-cheapo pipes and tobacco at Wal-Mart & Walgreens. No need to drop $100 to get started with a pipe.
