AQUARIUMS and Discus
#1
I used to raise discus fish (fresh water) like the ones in this video.

Is there anyone else here that is into Aquarium keeping?

Had discus for a long time. Now I have a Nano reef that just got a good cleaning. Need to get a new cleaning crew since I already have algae growing again.

I don't keep any fish, but I've always wanted to big tank. Once I have enough money to spend on an expensive reef, I'll feel really good about where I'm at in life.
How much work was it to keep your fish?

Freshwater are very easy. Fish only salt are fairly easy and reef tanks can be a pain in the ass. But with the advancements in LED's they are getting easier. Water quality is a lot more important in SW.

I've been wanting to start a saltwater tank, but I've been told it's ALOT more work. I should probably warm up and learn on fresh

I would look it the nano reefs. Mine is only 24 gallons but is pretty easy to care for. Plus you don't have to spend a bunch to fill them up. Big tanks cost a ton of money and cost even more when you go to fill them.

Lurch, what type of Discus did you have?

I had Wayne's Blue Diamonds with certificates.
A white dragon breeding pair.
A Cobolt blue Breding pair from Marc Weiss that I had flown in and picked up at the S.F. International airport.

and quite a few others.
