From the tin: “A blended, sliced cake of high-grade flue-cured leaf, from beautiful sweet brights to deep, earthy reds, without the added sugars and flavorings common to many Virginia flakes. It is rich on the palate, evolving in layers with the clean, natural sweetness of pure tobaccos. It offers a pleasant room note and a delightful finish. For those seeking a pure Virginia experience, we proudly present Union Square.

  1. At 5:28, I spit out my coffee from laughing. Your facial expression was priceless. Awesome reviews.

  2. How do you order tobacco in washington state?

  3. if you don’t mind me asking, what pipe do you have in the thumbnail ?

  4. I confess, I'm a C&D fanboy, and many of Greg's recipes taste excellent to me. I already have a handful of VA flakes that are every day morning smokes, so I never gave this one much thought. Also, I like that pipe in the video thumbnail; Ashton or Eldritch? Finally, you're making me regret cutting my 3" beard. Have a good one! 👋🏻

  5. Putting a few tins away. Take care, Mark

  6. You should make a video on what is your daily tobacco rotation currently. Love your channel and hope to see more videos soon 🙂

  7. Have to call click bait on your thumbnail. Was hoping to see you smoke your Eldritch pipe.
Thanks for the review, great video as always. Putting union square on my list. Love some G.L. Pease Kensington, so I’ll probably enjoy this one two.

  8. I started smoking a pipe 7 years ago. Prior to that I would get a cold every 4 years or so, and after I started smoking a pipe I got a cold/the flu every four months. When I stopped smoking a pipe, I stopped getting sick. It's too bad because I loved smoking a pipe, but it's not worth it.

  9. So during the motorcycle sound, he does the funny silence and zoom in.
I had always assumed Bradley was a one man band, just setting up his camera by himself, and away he went.
But how could he do that zoom in at will, right when the bike sound occurs? He doesn't have a remote control device in his hands that I can see.
So does he actually have a camera man filming him?
These are the types of things that keep me up at night.
    Any explanations ?

  10. Are you from washington? if so, how do you get your tobacco?

  11. I just tried my 1st G.L P..tobacco Maltese falcon tobacco, how would you compare the two.im still lernerning the hobbie, and I love it, anyone can chime in I would appreciate it,tyvm

  12. Great review as always. Glad to know you enjoy that blend so much.
But how do you compare it to Capstan Original Navy Cut?

  13. Maybe you could show the viewer's how you " rub-out " flake tobacco. There may be some first time smokers who are not familiar with that process.

  14. Great review as usual Bradley. Must try this one…

  15. It's with the rest as far as straight Virginia flake's. There's just so much that can be done without adding other varietals. That, if anything, is the issue here. It's as good as most stuff. Peterson and McClelland use some kind of tobacco treatment that adds a ketchup (McC) or fruity sweet (Peterson) tin note that reflects not so much in the smoke. This is a bit more pure I suppose. It could improve with age most likely. Nothing to write home about, but nice as straight Virginia's go. Thanks for the review. Good American Tobacco. Can't complain about that.

  16. Good review. Put Union Square on my short list

  17. Hey Bradley, I've been wondering for awhile what your favorite tobaacos are or what you most regularly smoke and recommend. I was thinking an awesome video idea would be, once a year(since opinions change over time and updates are, in general, quite nice) to make a top 10 list of favorite tobaccos of that year or top recommendations. -Phlynx

  18. You are absolutely right about the simple complexity or complex simplicity, being an old timer I can tell you that after you age this stuff for about 2 years it takes on the character of some of the famously popular Virginias from the 1960's and 70's namely Dunhill Light Flake which at its height was by far the best flake on the market in those days. That Virginia was from of all places……wait for it……Virginia! Unbelievable. Anyway glad you enjoyed probably my favorite Virginia and enjoy it even more after you age a bit of it. If you ever get close to Poulsbo, drop in to my store and we can have a pipe and a cup on the waterfront. Keep puffin.

  19. We'll call it "well-rounded.''

  20. I was the one with motorbike while smoking my fucking pot 55

  21. According to G.L. Pease's FAQ there are no casings or flavorings at all on this blend. "Union Square is one of very few, if any, pure virginia tobaccos available anywhere that is produced completely without additional sugars or sauces." – http://www.glpease.com/FAQ.html
