Charter Oak Cigar is a budget minded cigar from one of the top cigar blenders. Watch this review to see if this blend makes the grade. Is it a yard gar or special occasion smoke?

According to

Foundation Cigar President Nick Melillo announces the completion of his newest brand, Charter Oak, set for release at the 2016 IPCPR Show in Las Vegas.

Charter Oak also pays tribute to Melillo’s grandfather, who while earning a modest salary working for the Winchester Repeating Arms factory after WWII, smoked exclusively, broadleaf cigars manufactured by FD Graves on State St, while, no joke, Rick Ardito’s grandfather, a guard at Winchester, also smoked FD Graves biggest selling broadleaf, Muniemakers.”

  1. Hey LeeMack912 thanks for the review! I bought one of these for my girl to smoke a couple of weeks ago. I tasted it and thought it was pretty good. Just smoked one myself and it tasted good to me. Nice and sweet. Maybe you got a dud, or like you said will get better with age. The great thing about smoking cigars is that there are so many options out there for people with different preferences to enjoy. I was speaking with a friend of mine earlier this week and this guy smokes a lot of cigars. Probably about 5-6 per day as opposed to my 5-6 a week. We talked about different manufacturers and lines. We could not agree on most of the sticks that we spoke about. We both only liked about 2 out of 12 we discussed. Haha. Different strokes I guess. Thanks again man. Keep up the reviews!

  2. Love the first two inches of the Rothchild size in these! Sorry this one didn't tickle your fancy too much Boss

  3. The colour "pulling" back maybe doesnt mean its coloured aka fake, but that the wrapper itself is a thinner leaf. So the line is just the wrapper burning a bit quicker compared to a thicker dark wrapper that doesnt get affected in the same way by the heat. For example a conneticute broad lead in general may be thinner than the typical maduro wrapper, so the thinner wrapper will have the different burning property leading to the colour "pulling" back in a way that may seem strange.

That's my little theory at least 🙂

  4. I will trade my MIL for 4 cigars, 1 pepperoni pizza and 2 episodes of murder she wrote 😫😯😥😲😷😖

  5. I wish I had a real life smoking buddy like Leemack, top bloke! 🙂

  6. Digging that Gurkha hat! nice review, have a good new year.

  7. As always, I appreciate the positive words and another great video. Things aren't always great or what we want, but better days will come!!! We've got to remember to keep circumstances in their proper perspective and be thankful for what we have.

Hope your holidays are going well!!!

  8. just came across your channel. got a pot of deer stew ready for tonight's herf my place here in Bama is a haven for married cigar smokers in winter time. Blessings to you an yours an to the ones that don't like US I just say Bless Your Heart it the southern way !

  9. great review brother! I'll give this a try! Wishing you and yours all the best for the holidays!

  10. You're right about the perspective of blessings. I was feeling down yesterday because my finances was hit more than usual this month. I had to snap out of it. Down for what?! I have everything I need, and was sitting on a cigar patio smoking and drinking scotch. I remember when I didn't even have a place to live. I have plenty to be grateful for even when things aren't going my way. Thanks brother, it's another great day!

  11. Thanks for another great review. Doesn't sound like my kind of stick. On the subject of cheap sticks – the My Father Flor De Las Antillas Maduro is the best under $10 stick I've had so far. Smokes like an expensive cigar. Full of delicious flavors, great construction and performance. I had to check my receipt again to make sure I only paid $7.90. LOL

  12. What??? Well done steak? LOL!!! I love the char too. It takes a skillful chef to have the nice seasoned crust on the outside and perfectly medium rare inside. Needless to say, I've had to send back many steaks in my day. LOL!
