MoSun for MoFun.

Fishy and I arrived at Conneticut in the hours of darkness. A few calls had passed between the crew already there and us while we were still on the road, so we knew we would have some catching up to do, but this was cool, as Fishy and I seemed to hit it off. I thought he may have liked me a little too much when we drove into the golf club’s empty car park, but fortunately it was his satnav that was miss-calculating, and after another call on his cell, we were back on track to pull up at Ashmans Casa.

We checked in at the desk, leaving our bags in the car, and immediately headed off towards the casino to meet the troops.

If any of you good people have ever been to Mohegan Sun, you will know just how big the place is. For me, who has never been in a casino complex before (casino, yes, nothing like this though) it was a jaw dropper. I could not get the constant hum of the slot machines out of my head, either that or my in flight entertainment was catching up with me. The place was HUGE, and we were instructed to meet the team at the waterfall bar. Yup, you heard me correct ……. Waterfall ……. Indoor waterfall …… one of at least 2 that I found.

We eventually found the gang sitting at the waterfall bar and I was introduced to all in attendance. My first job was to carry out Tanks instructions to me from our phone conversation …….. so as promised, while being introduced to Mahk, I grabbed him in a headlock and gave him a noogie from Tank. I think I still have some hair product on my shirt ……….. LOL.

I then got to meet some new people in person for the first time, people who I had only spoken to in text until this point, granted we had shared a lot over the past few years in some cases, but now I got to meet these good people in person.

Chris …….. The sharp dressed king of keeping it cool.
Jimmie …….. Always smiling and surrounded by good karma.
Tommy …….. Everybody should meet Tommy, as nice a guy to meet than you ever will.
Skip ………. We are old friends, but ALWAYS good to meet him again.
Keith ……… Rock solid and steadfast, an all round great guy.
Mark ……… Even without the noogie, I was looking forward to meeting Mark, I was not disappointed.
Ty ……….. An absolute gentleman in person, and who opened his house to us all.
Mrs Mum ……… You should all be so lucky to have as understanding and classy a lady for a wife.
Miss Mum ……… A quiet a demure young lady, Mr & Mrs Mum must be very proud, as well a Chris.
Katie ……. The woman behind the man that is Ty ……. She partied just as hard as the rest of use and loves a good cigar as well.

And of course, if I am to mention everybody else, I cant forget to mention Bob again, my limo driver, my provider of sustenance, communications officer and just all round good people ……… another member of my extended family.

Jimmie made sure a beer was thrust into my hands as soon as the introductions were complete and I sparked up a Cohiba in preparation for what looked like a great night ahead. Lots of photos, lots of trying to sit and talk with everybody over the roar of the waterfall, Tommy was a hoot when we started to wind him up about Tank being in the building and screamed like a girl when he asked Tank to describe what he was doing while talking to him on the phone, Tank had replied that Tommy had his hand up in the air (which was true) and I thought Tommy was going to slip a disc in his neck trying to look round constantly to see where Tank was.

The beer and cigars flowed into the early hours of the morning, and if I remember rightly, Ty and Katie ensured that Bob and myself made it back to the hotel in one piece ………… The first night had been a blast, I had traveled 1,000’s of miles and not had any sleep for 26hrs by the time I got into my room with my cases ….. I still wanted to soak up as much experience as possible, but would have to wait until the Saturday morning for that to happen.

Happy Days.
