Weird, but interesting.   And yes, the dots are there and in different places on my color printers.   The OKI has a different pattern than the Kodak QMS system.   No more printing money for me!  whew!  that was close!

it's just a finger print. Just like in the days of typewriters, each one had particular scratches and other deformities that can be used to identify the device used to create a page.

It comes in handy for law enforcement in cases of kidnapping for instance.

Its really amazing the things that go on in the "background" of everyday life like that.   Who would ever think there was a secret code on every page printed!

I tried using my Ovaltine Secret Society decoder pin, but the only message I could decode was "buy more HP toner"
