This year taxpayers will receive an Economic Stimulus payment or reduction of withholdings in their paychecks. This is a very exciting program which I will explain using the Q & A format:
Q: What is an Economic Stimulus Payment?
A: It's money the Federal Government will send to taxpayers.
Q: Where will the government get this money?
A: From taxpayers.
Q: Is the government giving me back my own money?
A: Only a smidgen.
Q: What is the purpose of this stimulus?
A: The plan is that you'll go out and buy a new hi-def TV, thus stimulating the economy.
Q: But - wouldn't that be stimulating the economy of China where all tV sets are made?
A:
Some stimulus spending reminders:
1. If you spend your money at Wal-Mart it will all go to China.
2. If you spend it on gasoline it will all go the the Arabs.
3. If you purchase a computer it will go to India.
4. If you purchase fruits and vegetables it will all go to Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala.
5. If you buy a Ford, it will go to Canada.
6. If you buy useless gadgets it will go to Vietnam.
5. To keep the money in the U.S.A, spend it at yard sales, baseball games, on domestic beer, and tattoos, since these are the only businesses still totally run and operated by Americans.
