The basics are that there's no minimum credit score in most cases, so if you've killed your credit that's ok.
There's no maximum Loan-to-value ratio, and you can borrow 105% of the home's appraised value if you want. So even people with little equity built up can partake.

 

Isn't this EXACTLY why the banking industry got into the mess we're in to begin with???

because EVERYONE should have a house.  they just don't need to pay for it.
