Joes Sports is closing for good. Some of you may have never heard of it, I believe they were mainly Washington and Oregon. They announced Friday they were closing. Now the going out of business sale is in full swing. For those of you unfamiliar, Joes Sports started out as military surplus store called GI Joes 57 years ago. Later, they sold sporting goods, auto parts, and hunting and fishing equipment. This store could have been called "mans best friend" If there was a bar in the back, I would have called it home. Sad to see them go.
They filed for bankrupcy in March, hoping to restructure and come back stronger. Unfortunatly they couldnt find anyone to finance or partner up with them, and got bought out by a liquidater. I went by my local one yesterday, and it looked like a bomb went off. It looked more like a thrift store than a retailer. there was stuff everywhere.
You could get a Shotgun, a Fly rod, work boots and brake pads for your car, all at the same place. I guess I will be making the trip down to Cabelas more often now.
