Good Cigar punch
#1
Since i have recently switched to using a punch exclusively, and plan to continue, would like some opinions on a good one to replace the free one i got with a plastic My Father ashtray. It doesn't seem like its sharpened much, if any.

Any particular brands I should be looking for?

I haven't used a punch in a long time. I started out with a punch, but after a while I discovered the beauty of the v cut, and haven't looked back.

That being said, I know Xikar makes some punches, and I've been pretty happy with their stuff.

Check out cigarbid for some good deals.

I have a couple of punches, I take one of them every time I go outside for a cigar...BUT...I can't tell you the last time I used one of them.

I almost always use my Colibri "V" Cutter.  For torps, I use my Xikar cutter.

If I was looking for a new punch, I'd either watch for a sale at Cigarpage.com, or "hunt" one on the devil site, Cigarbid.com
Note: Cigarpage has free shipping on everything.  Cigarbid charges shipping.

Here's cigarpage's listing of lighters & cutters (these are not their sale prices)

No, never have.
Have used a guillotine cutter for all of my cigar smoking life until just a few weeks ago when I switched to a Punch and have been very happy, except the cheap 2 i have dont seem very sharp.

Currently looking at this on on Amazon as i like it having 2 different size punches on each end, its reasonably priced, and i think it has a classy look to it, and whenever possible, i try to get classy looking accessories as i feel cigars are a classy item, so try to get things to match.

Obviously function and quality comes first of course.

Calibri v cut is game changer. I only have xicar straight cut atm, but v is the best. I started with bullet cut, last a few weeks. Too many issues

I use my V cutter 95% of the time & I have a bunch of cutters. I do have a Nub Punch cutter & maybe 2 or 3 other punch cutters.
I need to gather up a few & post them in this thread.

But, if you some extra pocket money, pick up the Calibri v cutter.
