Can anyone recommend a good patio heater?
#1
Can anyone recommend a good patio heater? I'd like to put one under my awning so I could sit outside & enjoy a cigar as it gets colder. My awning is about 22' x 11' & attached to the house on 1 of the 22' sides & is open on the other 3 sides, so a heater that just heats the air won't do any good if there is any wind.

I've been thinking on getting an infrared heater like these http://firesense.com/products/patio-heat...io-heaters

or a Halogen heater, like these: http://firesense.com/products/patio-heat...io-heaters

I'd like to get just 1 heater if it can heat an area up for maybe 2 or 3 people.

Any of you guys/gals have any experience with these?

Go IR gas... I have two of the halogen 60660's shown on your link above. As far as I can tell, they don't produce heat.

My IR bottle top heaters however...I can smoke in shorts on a warm 30 degree evening.

That sounds exactly what I'm looking for.

I got these end of last winter, bow the socks off of my single horn. I'm not sure if it will fit the bill for you though

Are you sure? It was under the "Infrared" section, not their "Halogen" section.

Do those heat the air or heat the surfaces?

To your first question, yes, it's electric. It mentions the cord length and voltage. You would not be happy with it.

Second question, yes they heat the surface, not the air.

OKay...so the electric ones are no good.

The one's that you & Nayslayer posted would be good if I had a mancave, but since it's going to be on the patio it would have to look nice or my wife wouldn't like it.

So what about this type then? http://firesense.com/products/patio-heat...tio-heater
