Go to your local B&M and they usually will give you free cigar boxes, just grab the cabs of them.

No need to even do that. Take off the lids if you want to and now you have trays instead of boxes. Or you could find the pieces of cedar that come in a lot of boxes (DPG comes to mind) and just line the whole thing with those.
