I would recommend trying the Padron regular line (ie 2000/3000, either of the wrappers), Sancho Panza Dbl Maduro and the CAO Brazilia to get you started.  These were some of the "introductory" cigars that I really enjoyed and still do, that can help you start figuring out what you enjoy.

Hey Whitey!  Welcome from ND!  All the above are great suggestions.  You will find that there are more great cigars out there than our pocketbooks will allow!  With that said add the new Oliva Conneticut cigar to your list!
