Cigars smell
#11
Well, i have no idea what year they are, I'd doubt that they are 09, being as i just picked them up. I'll guess i'll worry about it less and just keep an eye on them for a bit. Thanks for the good info

if they smell musty, it's mold. Not all mold will be visible. It starts off microscopic. Keep these cigars fairly dry. Try exposing them to UV light (the sun) for an hour or so. This should help.
On the other hand, is it amonia? Cigars give off amonia. Most of this is vented in the fermentation process. Some cigars still have it in them. These are what Jimmie is probably referring to when he says "they were some of the best stogies I ever had" & I agree.

I am not a fan of a 113,000 sq ft humidor and dont believe it can be kept at an even proper humidity.
