i just found an old box with 6 Cain Straight Ligero smokes in it. This box has been on a shelf in the extra bedroom for probably a year. What's the best way to bring them back to life?? My humi is currently at about 70%RH and 65 degrees....if i put them in there...will the swell and split? I LOVE these smokes and don't want to lose them..HELP!!!!

you need to re-humidify slowly.

After a year with no humidification other than the room they were in it's doubtful that they will be like they were originally. But you can try.
Put a small hygrometer in the box and start with the following procedure.
Get a small cooler, place box with cigars inside and leave closed for about a week. You want this to be a slow process. Do the same for another week. Check water and leave lid on box open just a little, like a quarter of an inch for another week. Keep up this process until the box is open about 1 1/2" then take lid off for about two weeks.
I have used this method twice. The cigars were smokeable but no where near their original profile.
Good luck!

Knowing your smoke habits from posts, HOW THE HELL could you loose a box of cigars??? LOL Well at least they should be the same humidity as your house and not dried completely out like the ones in Tanks golf bag.
.
We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered.
