I feel like I don't need a data plan for a tablet. lol. The Ipad is pretty cool but I have a netbook and a Iphone I really don't see the point. I really don't care about flash on my phone because I hate surfing on it anyway, but with the pad I would expect flash.

i am pretty much anti apple. not really sure why i just am. i pretty much use my netbook for everything so i don't really see much of a need for a tablet but i am a gadget junkie so i am sure at some point i will get one.

I would wait a bit. Android tablet is due out at some point also and I think a few others.
I just had a thought. Remember in Star Trek where they were always walking around with tablet like things with reports and stuff on them? Well, looks like that technology has come to fruition also. Smile

I've had the Archos 7 and now have an ipad (I love my wife) and it fills a space in my gadget needs just fine.

I have to admit the whole ereader thing that lets me download magazines as well as books is soooooooo coooooool on top of movie player and net surfing capabilities, oh, and lets not forget the odd game when stuck in airports.

I like to travel as light as possible and humping a laptop around when you go through so many airport security points that I do becomes a pain in the ass.

Iphone, ipod shuffle and the ipad .......... one charger for them all and nothing to write home about as far as weight to carry them around the world. My bag used to have a phone, a laptop, an MP3 player, 2 or 3 novels, 3 or 4 magazines, and lets not forget a charger for each of the electronic goodies.

In short ...... if you travel a lot, the ipad is great, but for the same money you could buy a laptop if you dont travel.

My son has an Ipad and it's pretty cool. Played with it for a while and seems to fit a need...
