I just bought this for myself.

I'm sorry I didn't get a few of them to hold for gifts and use on my boat, car and all of my key chains... This think is a full 10 on the cool scale.

I actually like this better for myself. Seems like it's just enough to get the job done, but won't weigh down your pockets. Does it have the same sturdy feel as the full-size Gerber? I ask, as many keychain/mini knives can come off feeling cheap.

this feels all gerber. Solid construction with hex screws no rivits (about as solid as something so small can possible feel). & 4 blades/6 or 7 tools. Not to mention the back clip is also a bottle opener.

Nice choice Pete, good looking knives.

I found out I have a SOG factory outlet right down the street from my house. I will be checking them out this week. I guess you can get a screaming deal on scratch and dent stuff. http://sogknives.com/

I've collected pocketknives and sheath knives since I was around 12, I've lost count of how many I have. Gerber makes some fine knives, the only issue I've had in the past is that on some models the blade was rather brittle. Hard steel makes for a great and long-lasting edge, but doesn't take kindly to impact. I once had a Gerber fillet knife that slipped from its sheath, fell about a foot and a half, and landed on the driveway - blade shattered into three pieces like glass. Things may be different now, I still carry a paraframe on occasion as a knockaround knife and still have my original style MKII from the late 80's. Got an E-Z out around here somewhere too.

I've always been more enamored of traditional styles. My main carry knife is one of my Rodgers & Sons, an Irish Guards made in Sheffield circa 1965. I also have a Parker Cutlery bone-handled copperhead that I'm very fond of for sentimental reasons. If it were me, I think I'd give out some nice Hen & Roosters with stag handle scales.
