i thought we could all get up some of our best stogies, maybe make it 1 from everyone - your best or not - and send them all to a Stogiechat adopted platoon over in Iraq. thru my job, i am lucky enough to be in contact with a lot of our guys over there, and a lot of them love the stogies! check this out

i looked on the SUGGESTED list of items, and it does say you can't send any alcohol or porno, but i didn't see anything about not sending tobacco. i think it would be an ultra cool way to support our troops over there who fight for our rights to smoke, drink, and make fools of ourselves. just a small "thank you"   who's with me?

Flyerman,

This sounds like a really good idea, i'm in the military and from the time that i've spent in theatre i could tell you that it gets pretty lonely even though you're with your fellow americans.  That being said, nothing lites up a warrior's eyes like a nice package from a group of people expressing thier thanks and appreciation.  I'm in just let me know when and how.

Almost everyone of my friends is over there right now so I have just been sending them some smokes in their care packages. But thats a great idea. After spending most of your day getting shot at (unless you were a POG lol you military guys know what I am talking about Tongue) a good cigar hits the spot unlike anything else!

Sounds like a great idea Flyerman. Are you going to be the pointman for this. If so, count me in.

IN!

I was planning on doing a contest for newbies to try some smokes since, yes, I am overflowing a bit, but I think our brave men and women in the armed services is a better avenue.

Let me know Flyerman.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.

well, i wouldn't mind setting this up, but i'm not sure i'm well-known enough for you guys to trust me with your cigars. but there is a place i heard of on DogWatch Social Club, called Operation From The Heart. i tried to google it, but i can't get there from here at work. i might be able to set it up with our shipping guy to send them over for free, but i would have to talk to him about it. or i could send them over with one of our field reps. if he agreed to do it, he could get them over there 2nd day delivery. the only question remains is, how many cigars? if there's a lot, it might be easier, with some of the empty boxes i have, easier to pack and keep humidified. don't get me wrong, i don't mind at all setting this up, but there might be some who don't easily trust others with their prized sticks. i still think it would be cool for Stogiechat to adopt a platoon all our own though. would you guys trust me with your stogies?
