The absolute best public golf course in the area is Hunter Ranch http://www.hunterranchgolf.com/

I'm not a golfer, but I have heard this from numerous sources. Hunter Ranch is about 20 minutes north of my house on Highway 46 in Paso Robles.

By the way, I just invited a friend of mine who is a great chef and he says he will be making Mojitos!
