Fantastic Machine - Is It Real ?
#1
READ BEFORE WATCHING THE 3 MINUTE VIDEO!

This incredible machine was built as a collaborative effort between the Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School of Engineering at the University of Iowa . Amazingly, 97% of the machine's components came from John Deere Industries and Irrigation Equipment of Bancroft , Iowa --yes, farm equipment!

It took the team a combined 13,029 hours of set-up, alignment, calibration, and tuning before filming this video, but as you can see, it was WELL worth the effort. It is now on display in the Matthew Gerhard Alumni Hall at the University and is already slated to be donated to the Smithsonian

P.S. Notice that at no time does a ball fall on the floor!

Sorry Jimmie... It's an animation. Great none-the-less. I remember finding the site many years ago. I'm happy you brought it up again.

That's why I asked if it was real or not. Hard to believe but heck it looked good, didn't it?

Here's an "uptempo" version . . . seriously cool animation, really. I think the Pipe Music pieces are the best ones Animusic has done, myself, just because they LOOK like they could actually work. Most of the others, you can tell it's just animated, but those, it's hard not to find yourself thinking, "Hey! I could build that!"
