LIPA (Long Island Power Authority) is making robo-calls to some people who live a few miles south of me. Telling them that people could lose power for up to 7-10 days!

That was also in the NJ news conference by the Governor. Just covering their asses but I guess anything could happen.
Our beach community is now a mandatory evacuation at 4PM Sunday but many residents stay there.

Got the recorded phone call. It's a CYA situation for them after they messed up last year.

Just heard from someone that manditory evacuation of NYU hospital has been ordered for tomorrow.

I got a robo call yesterday from LIPA, never got one of those before. I just saw that the MTA is closing all trains to and from the Island. I'm not sure what to think about this storm, as I have absolutely no belief that meteorologists have a clue what they're doing, but this one seems to be pretty bad. I read one thing saying its a hurricane in the middle, and a Noreaster around the edges. That doesn't sound very good...
