Need to clean xikar x1 - tarheel7734 - 09-29-2012

So it was quit humid and cool last time I smoked. I tried to blow out and wipe down my xikar, but there is still small amounts of tobacco on and in the cutter. Seems like I cant get rid of it no matter how I clean it. Should I try and flush it with alcohol?

my preferred cleaner is naphtha or common lighter fluid. I keep this in the house for all sorts of cleaning purposes. It even dissolves chewing gum from the seat of your pants...
(car painters should be familiar with this as it is used as a degreaser for pre-paint prep)

oh, and stop slobbering all over your cigars before you cut them. It will go a long way to keeping it clean. Wink

That is a great idea...I have used it for other cleaning jobs but never even thought about using it for my cutters.

Sorry mate I don't put the cigars near my mouth before cutting. It has just been cool and humid when I have been smoking my cigars. Usually late at night or early in the morning before the sun comes up.

I use alcohol on a Q-tip to clean my cutters.
