Chanterelle Mushrooms - Riofan - 10-14-2010
So I wanted to try a recipe with Chanterelle Mushrooms. After my third stop I finally found them: @ $29/lb.

Still in sticker shock I walked away from the store vowing to come back in the future when I can better plan a meal around these.
Have any of you tried them?

I have. Love shrooms. Grew up picking with my dad and grandfather. Still go with my dad when I get the chance. Although chanterelles were never my favorite, a little to flowery. I prefer a more woody/ earthy flavor. Sorry but I never did learn the proper names but I will see if I can find them and go from there.

Wow, that is one expensive batch of mushrooms!
Never had them, but I consider myself an overall mushroom fan for sure!

I never liked mushrooms...I just don't like the texture. I don't mind the flavor though, when it's combined with a nice steak & sauteed onions!
