OK- Just like the title says. Do we have any networking experts? Here is my current situation. I have a 4 port router in my bedroom, near my television. It hooks into my 360, ps3, directv receiver, and my obi. Just picked up a 3DTV for out in the living room, and have some devices connected up out there (a network media player, the TV itself, the Directv receiver, an xbox 360 and I move my PS3 out there.) I have those connected to an edimax 5 port access point, the one found right here:

Ok, here is the deal. I'd also like to hook up internet access in another room in the house. This one will need to have 3 ports of access (for another 360, another Directv receiver, and probably a computer down the road.) Wireless will not reach this room from where it sits now. I tried using my access point in repeater mode, but it absolutely destroys my connection speed, from over 20 mbps download and 5 mbps upload to 1 download and 512 upload when I'm lucky. So I'd like to come up with some sort of switch setup. My question is, and what would be easiest for me, would be to run one wire under the house from the router in the bedroom to the living room, then another (connecting to the swich) from the living room to another bedroom across the house, where another switch would be located to put internet access to those three devices. My question is, will that work? And will it work well? I.E. will I get close to the regular speeds coming out of the router initially, or will they be cut in half at each switch? Would I be better off putting a larger switch in the bedroom and running wires to everything from there? Please help!
Sorry for the super long post.
