My son used to get rashes on his cheeks when he'd eat anything citrus. It was weird, and hard because he ate a lot of oranges. But he grew out of it and is fine with it now. I know those aren't similar, just saying there's some hope as they grow older it gets better. I hope that for your son.

Anyway, one of my buddies has 2 boys, and his oldest has that terrible peanut allergy. Sounds like you got some great advice from CJ, another thing I'd throw in is to make sure to pay attention when going out to eat or through the drive thru. I know a lot of places have warnings on the window that anything you order may have come in contact with peanuts, especially DQ. Good luck with it.

I developed onset food allergies in my 30's. First to beef and then seafood. You would not believe how much stuff has by-products of these 2 in them.

My ex-wife had a latex allergy. Also, you wouldn't believe how much stuff has the same proteins in it that are related to latex.

My advice for food allergies:
ALWAYS read the label and do not trust anyone that hasn't. People with out allergies don't take them as serious as you will. Ever. and if in doubt, don't eat it.
Benedryl is your new best friend. Mix it with caffeine.
It's hard to keep a good man down.

Just saw this....Damm sorry to hear Larry. I'm hoping for that 20% of out growing it works.

Good advise from all the others. I'd keep extra epi pens anywhere you might need them.

My FIL just came down with a shellfish allergy, a bad one. He used to eat shellfish all the time. and then one day last year, it was like someone turned on a switch in him. He carries 2 pens & my MIL also carries extra pens for him.
