Turbo Tax - Read the fine print!!
#1

Before you buy this product be sure to read the fine print this year....you will now be limited to preparing just ONE return with this software without paying an additional $10 per return to Intuit to prepare any additional returns. Not $10 to e-file but $10 to even prepare and print a return that you could mail in.

I told them lots of luck.............

Here's an interesting post from the Amazon TT forum

Paula here from H&R Block. TaxCut does not charge to print additional returns. This year TaxCut does include a free federal e-file. For those who are preparing multiple returns, you can elect to either print or e-file the additional returns. Unlike TurboTax, with TaxCut there is no additional charge to print multiple returns.

Additionally, TaxCut software will import from TurboTax software and Quicken. TaxCut Premium Federal also includes one free tax professional consultation and Worry-free Audit support from a live tax professional (not a self-service website) when you e-file your return.

You should also compare the pricing. TaxCut Premium Federal + State + E-file also lowered it's price this year by $20 instead of raising prices to cover the cost of the e-file ($49.95 MRSP). We are committed to providing a great value just when everyone needs it in this economy.

Good stuff. I'll have to try out the competition this year. Always have used TurboTax in the past, but it sounds like they're getting UN-user-friendly.

So they caved in after all of our e mails…

And to show how stupid they are, they didn't even send a note to each person that complained about their outrageous pricing that they changed it back to last years before pricing they bought Tax Cut.  What idiots!  That is a classic example of poor management!

Too late I purchased Tax Cut instead...

TurboTax Now Includes Free E-filing with Every Federal Return

Updated: 12/12/2008

Article ID: 6156

TurboTax now includes free electronic filing with every federal return prepared with desktop software products. TurboTax is the only tax software to include both e-filing and audit support with every federal return.
TurboTax customers can e-file up to five federal tax returns, the limit set by the IRS, and prepare and print multiple returns at no additional cost.
Including free e-filing with every federal return is one more way we help make it easier for TurboTax customers to keep more money in their pockets.

The limit of one free (included) Tax retrurn was removed from Turbo Tax software.

Here is the web site with the details;
