Triple Ligero X3 by K. Hansotia

6 1/8" X 52

Been meaning to review this one for a while now, sorry about the delay!

Appearance: This dark dark stick is tasty looking. Not the prettiest of stogies, rough and toothy looking, but it makes up for it with its rich oily wrapper. Construction-wise, it seemed packed firm and even should do the job just fine.

Pre-Light: clipped easy and the draw was just right, forgiving enough for my liking. Pre-light notes were of a tobacco tang and dark chocolate. simple but appealing.

Burn/Draw: Lit fine. Burned straight. Draw was a tad lighter than I like, but not a problem. The white ash stood in stark contrast to the wrapper and help forever. I wound up ashing for fear of making a mess and it was an effort to get it off. Because of that the cigar burned cool and creamy, which definitely enhanced the experience. Reminded me of the Upmann Vintage Cameroon I smoked in terms of construction improving experience.

Flavors: It was quite good. Started off rich and creamy, milk chocolate and nutty. Also I have heard others talk of a cherry note, and I think they might be right! As the cigar burned it gained steam, and settled in to a more classic Oscuro/Double Maduro profile, espresso, dark chocolate, leather, cedary wood. Overall a great experience I must say, especially for maduro lovers.

Overall a surprisingly good smoke, and one I recommend!

Not only do I not know what's going on, I wouldn't know what to do about it if I did.

Nice review Tom.

I think people are hit or miss on this smoke #1 because it's Gurkha and #2 because it's from CI/C-Bid.  I think it's a GREAT cigar for the $1.50 to $2.00 you can get them on C-Bid at the right time.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.

Nice review! I must've bought 50 of these things off C-Bid . . . haven't had one for awhile, but was checking on them there just the other day . . . Big Grin

Only problem I've had with them, and it might just be my humi, was that the caps seemed to get hard and brittle with a few months age on them. I stopped stocking up on them because of that . . . a few of 'em shattered on me and there's few bigger bummers than having a cigar you were looking forward to come apart disastrously when you clip it. Well, having an "equipment malfunction" while naked with Jessica Alba would be worse, but you know what I mean!
