I have been seriously thinking of opening a small cigar shop. The closest shops to buy imported cigars are 30 miles to the east and 100 miles to the west. I know that some of you guys run shops and I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of some information so that I can start learning what I need to do to get a shop operating.

just make sure you want to open for the right reasons which is you know you can make a profit doing it and not because you love cigars..rarely do business ventures of business and pleasure coexist in a positive way...sure you have to love and enjoy what your doing but remember your in the business of selling cigars not collecting cigars

That is why I would like to gather a little information from some of you guys who have done this already so I can see if it is a feasible venture for me.

There certainly are a lot of guys on here that could offer good advice. In addition to Eric, where's Darrell when ya need him? I could never open such a shop, I'd wind up smoking all my profits.. lol

It's a tough business for sure. When you buy cigars from a manufacturer you just can't buy the cigars you want but you have to buy an assortment of other cigars (that don't sell that well) and various sizes etc.
I woud PM Eric (who owns this forum) and Robbie from Cordova cigars.
