THE REDBULL STRATOS jump from space! New HELMET CAM VIDEO FOOTAGE!
#1
Is anyone here at S.C. following Felix's freefall jump?

The countdown has begun for Felix Baumgartner's epic jump from the edge of space. Supported by a team of experts, Felix will ascend in a helium balloon to an altitude of 120,000 ft / 36,576 m where he will take a leap of faith into the unknown in an attempt to become the first person to break the speed of sound during freefall. To follow the progress of this mission and to receive alerts on where and when to tune in to watch Red Bull Stratos rewrite history live please RSVP and join the Event. For further information visit www.redbullstratos.com or www.facebook.com/redbullstratos

Is it really possible for a human being to break the speed of sound in freefall and not die?

It was cancelled yesterday due to high winds, but may take place today if safe. He is flipping nutso!

Not the first person to break the speed of sound with their body, but he's probably the highest.

Thumbs Up
Very interesting. The human race has benefited greatly from other pioneers. It will be interesting to see what is learned from this expedition.

IT IS HAPPENING.... NOW! (time now, 9:24 a.m. p.s.t. Sun, Oct 14th)

I am watching it "live"

(NOTE: I was at the 99 cents store last night here in California getting velcro for a humidifier, they had a sign saying there was a helium shortage so they could not make balloons, NOW we know "WHY")

I'm wondering ....his suit must have a heat shield component, right?

WORLD RECORDS have been broken this day!

I was too young to remember the moon landing, but this day I have felt "some" insight of what people watching in 1969 must have felt.

I am glad to have been able to witnessed this real time as the live event took place.
