Hurricane in Ohio!?!
#1
The winds from Ike came through Cincinnati last Sunday.
Hundreds of thousands of people lost power, they're calling it the worst power outage in Cincinnati ever. Even today, Thursday, there are 20,000+ in the dark.
At least 3 people died.

The bad part is, because the windstorm (no rain) was sustained gusts, they are officially calling it a HURRICANE, and all of the people who's homes or property was damaged are out of luck. They're saying that if you didn't have hurricane insurance, nothing is covered. Who has hurricane coverage in Ohio?!!?

I think they can call it whatever they like, but to be an actual hurricane, you need sustained winds of 75 MPH or more.

Sounds like the insurance companiies don't want to pay. Here on Long Island, they sold flood insurance, even if you lived on the shore. For years they took the money from the people. Then a few years ago...actual floods....many insurance companys did not want to pay & when the policys were up, they would not renew them.
If Sonny had EZ-Pass, he'd have survived that hit...

75mph+, that's what we had.
The weatherman said technically it's a hurricane, even if it didn't rain or do any other hurricane-related stuff. I'm not sure how a hurricane differs from a tornado...

Yep, the winds were sustained.
It's still crazy around here, going on day 6 of no power for over 100k people and businesses.

The real troubling thing is, for those who's insurance is covering it...some scammy contractors are coming in and doing poor work for high dollar. Bottom feeders.
