Due to a failure to follow the participation rules and due to a failure to communicate and respond to PMs from a Moderator about the situation, one of the members of Bogey's 2011 Pass has been suspended from SC for 30 days starting immediately.

The most important thing to consider is that this was totally unfair to the recipient in this exchange. As Moderators, it is our job to do our best to stand up for and help those that have been caught on the wrong end of a deal such as this. We do take these sorts of incidents very seriously, as these sorts of actions by individuals reflect poorly on StogieChat as a whole.

This member will also not be permitted to participate in passes or similar exhanges until further notice.

To avoid these incidents in the future, please keep the following in mind:

1. If you make a commitment to participate in an activity, you are at the same time agreeing to all of the rules, timelines, etc. that are set forth.

2. If you run into any sort of problem that may make it difficult for you to fulfill your end, it is YOUR job to communicate DIRECTLY with a Mod and the person running the activity so that the issue can be remedied.

3. You need to be 100% forthright and honest about the situation. If you say you are going to send or do something on a certain day, then do it!

4. If you receive a PM from a mod regarding the situation (or for any reason really), you MUST check the message and respond to it! It does not look good at all if you are logged in numerous times and do not respond to PMs from a Mod about a developing situation.

5. This decision was not made lightly. This has been discussed by the Mod Team behind the scenes for a month. Thank you for respecting the fact that we keep both the identity of the individual involved and other specific details about the incident confidential.

6. Bottom line. If you make a commitment, it is your reponsibility to hold up your end of the deal. If you have a problem, COMMUNICATE with the appropriate parties quickly, be responsive to messages, and make it right QUICKLY.
