Fonseca Vintage
#1
Robusto 5x50

Wraper: Ecuador
Binder: Dom. Rep.
Filler: Dom. Rep

I was out looking to buy another box of cigars for my son in law
who was about to become a dad for the first time. My local B&M was
my first stop, the owner gave me a heck of a deal on box of Fonsecas
for me. Don't worry guys I still got my son in law his box of smokes too.

I brought my box home and put them away for a good day. Tonight I was in
the mood for something light. So I reached in and grabbed me one of the
Fonsecas.

The construction looked solid, only two issues, 1) the ring/label were
glued a bit too much, and 2) the wrapper is truly delicate, I tore it
trying to punch the stick. I quickly grabbed my Palio and clipped the
tip instead.

Prelight: nice clean almost odorless smell. the pre light draw was
nice not too loose and not too tight. I toasted the foot with a
Visol triple jet lighter, looked good. I took that first draw and
was quickly rewarded with a thick creamy smoke with hints of suede,
and very light pepper, with a hint of citrus and toast.

The Tawny Borwn wrapper burned nice and even not laser line even but
even none the less with a black oily burn line. The ash is nice tight
and white.

I normally prefer stronger cigars but this wasa nice envigorating
break. A must have for any humidor. Keep them ready for when you want
that break to the Mild Side or you need to introduce someone to the
fine hobby of cigar smoking.

I am with you on this one.  I was on a "vintage" kick a while back and would pick up anything with the word on it :?.  Fortunately this was a good smoke - definately on the mild side, but very enjoyable.  It would be a very nice intro cigar for someone looking to dabble in our twisted little world - and a nice break from the full bodied fare that many of us find ourselves smoking all of the time.  We seem to forget that there are many good cigars out there that you don't have to make sure you have a full meal in you before lighting up.  Thanks for the review jsaucedo.

thank you for your kind words. I will try to post a review per day. Will not always happen that way but as long as I can keep the variety up I will do so. Glad you enjoyed this one and this particular cigar.
