Dry Mouth

I have a quick question for all of you experts out there!! Smile After a 2+ year hiatus from smoking, I'm experiencing an annoying level of dry mouth when I light up. I've never had this happen before, and I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I do take some phantom pain medications that may be a factor. I've always had a drink of some sort when I smoke, but the dry mouth lasts for a couple of hours after I finish the cigar.

I appreciate any insight that you ladies and gentlemen may have!

MMMMM, that's a new one one for me. Usually, I have that when I wake up the next morning.

Have you tried mouthwash etc after you smoke.

I do brush and use mouthwash after I smoke. I really think that the medications are a contributing factor since I didn't have this problem before.

It's a mild annoyance and only lasts for a couple of hours after I smoke. It also doesn't seem to affect the taste of the cigar.

I have the same problem because of a few different meds, and I usually make sure that I am hydrated beforehand, and usually drinking something that doesn't dehydrate me while I am smoking, like a gatorade or somethin like that. I don't know if that's the exact same problem that you're having, but it may help.

Sounds like the same thing. I've been drinking sweet iced tea with my smokes. There were times before when I would have a beer, but that was pretty rare. I really think it's the meds. As I said, it's only a small annoyance and nothing that I'll worry too much about.

Thanks for your input!!

Sounds like it could indeed be your meds... maybe look at a PDR or other reference to check on side effects of what you are taking?

I've never found it necessary to spit while smoking a cigar. I see people do it all the time and wonder what the heck that's all about.

I'm just a spitter, not a swallower. I think that's the reason I do it! No, It's a habit for me from years and years of dipping and having a tobacco taste in my mouth.
