Carbon Copys?
#1
I picked up some Carbon Copys of Opus X a couple weeks ago.

Friday night I fired one up. Everything about the cigar was right on with opus except the strenght. Construction was very good maybe even a bit better. It had a razor sharp burn for the entire smoke. The flavor was exact.  I smoked a Opus x power ranger the next night and I felt I was smoking the same cigar.

Anyone else try these knock offs lines and if so what are your thoughts?

First off, is this your review of a cigar?  If so, I must say that I'd be hard pressed to believe construction on any "knockoff" cigar was better than on the Opus!  What are these carbon copy's?  Who makes them?  What was the price range on this stick.  And where do I try them?  I'm always open to something new.Big Grin

As for these knockoffs in general, I stay away from them and pretty much have the attitude that I know what I like and will keep smoking that.  I'm always open to trying a new stick but I've NEVER had one live up to it's supposed counterpart.  Some may be close in one dimension or another but the whole reason I smoke the Opus is for the entire experience and that's what I want.  You may find a good cheap stick here and there but I highly doubt anything like this could ever take the place of an Opus in my book.

I'm with Gunnar on this one.  I'd like to know where you got them.  I'd be willing to buy a couple to try, but I'm doubting that they can be near an opus in perfection.

I've never heard of Carbon Copys.
I've never had a knockoff that tasted like it's "supposed" to, or even tasted good for that matter.

Here's the only place I could find them online.

If they even come close to an X I might be inclined to buy some. But would need more people's feedback first, or one to try myself Wink

Well Google brought me here:

I'm assuming you're talking about the Carbon Copy X.

I dunno...Sometimes I'm a gambler, but I wouldn't bet $50 that they've been able to make a cigar that "[color="#000000"]Taste alot like the Opus X Anni" and chose to only sell them at cigar shops that specialize in bundles and savings.

A "carbon copy" of an Opus X in a $50 bundle? [lol]

Puh-leeeeze. The wrapper leaf alone would run more than that. [really]

Anything that sounds too good to be true usually is.

haha. so i take it you aren't looking for any of those "glass top" deals boar? haha.

back to the question at hand, i've yet to find a good knock off, but there are some good cigars that can be had at value prices. how good did you consider this to be? was it good because of the price, or was it genuinely good? if there was an opus sitting on the table next to it's knock off counter part, which would you pick up?

I would not call this a review just more of a surprise to me.

I am a big Dom. Puro fan and Opus X are hard to find in my city right now. So I found these on the net and thought I would give them a shot. I think they are very good maybe I am wrong but I am impressed with these carbon copys.

I think I might pick up a 5er of them, just to try em.  Even if they don't taste like an opus, if they are decent tasting, they may be worth the price.
