Built my own walk in humidor - Need assistance in getting it cigar ready
#11
I'll hijack this thread for a moment.

Would Bob be able to sort me out with something to hook up in the UK without transformers etc?

I have plans for a mancave at the new house (no more motorcycles means I can split the garage in to a store and have it kitted out as a smoking lounge (I have already drawn up some plans).

I have been managing with Heartfelt beads in 2 trays built in to my humi (5' x 2' x 2') and with the Scottish weather have never had any issues with my stock, but it has always been in my mind to have a more proffesional system.

Going to reach out and see what he can do for the humidification of the humidor. Will take more pics after the shelves are in and cigars are loaded up. This should be fun!!

Not to rain on your parade as I sure wish I had a closet like that..... but that sure looks like red cedar and not Spanish cedar. Spanish cedar (or Cedro) is part of the mahogany family. Like mahogany, it is very uniform in color, rarely has knots and has a very light grain.

Red cedar is what they make cedar chests and coat closets out of and has both red and yellow wood color, lots of knots.

Again....I'm not trying to burst your bubble, but I'd hate for you to buy $1000s worth of cigars and ruin them by storing them in red cedar. Make sure you got the right stuff!!
