Because we didn't have enough controversy with the Lego concentration camp...

A Lego-style figurine resembling an Islamic terrorist strapped with explosives and made by a small American company has caused an uproar among Muslims and non-Muslims alike.[/b]

The controversial miniature figure, created by Seattle-based Will Chapman as part of his BrickArms military fighters line, is a bearded militant with a face-covering hood, a tiny toy assault rifle, a little grenade launcher and plastic bombs that can be attached to an explosives belt.

The character is called "Bandit — Mr. White" and sells for $14.

The jarring toy has outraged the British Muslim organization known as the Ramadhan Foundation, which called the figurine "absolutely disgusting," according to Sky News.

The foundation's chief executive, Mohammed Shafiq, complained that the toy is "glorifying terrorism."

"I don't think there's any difference between someone that shouts hatred through a megaphone and someone that creates a doll that glorifies terrorists," he told Sky.

"As a parent myself, I'm going to teach my children respect for the law and respect for each and every community. These are the lessons parents should be giving to their children — not lessons about weapons and violence.

Chapman, a father of three who operates the company from the Seattle suburb of Redmond, Wash., bristles at the notion that he is celebrating terrorism.

"We do not sell an 'Osama bin Laden' miniature figure," he wrote in an e-mail to FOXNews.com. "We sell a generic bad guy minifigure with a Ninja scarf head wrap, the same minifigure that we have been selling for over a year now, with no associated 'outrage.'

"It does not represent anything; it is simply a bandit — a bad guy for the good guys to battle. Attempt to assign it a 'personality' only serves to create controversy that does not exist."

On his Web site, he explains that his 9-year-old son gave him the idea for the toy line, which includes 31 different Lego-style weapons and a variety of military figurines.

He told FOXNews.com that BrickArms is a "family-owned and family-run business."

"We started in 2006, when one of our sons expressed an interest in military history and weaponry of the WW2 era," he wrote. "He wanted to recreate scenes from history, with his LEGO bricks and figures, so he and I designed the first of many of our BrickArms miniature toy weapon replicas."

Other figurines in the line are World War II fighters, U.S. Marines and even a Nazi SS officer.

LEGO issued a statement Thursday saying that the company isn't associated with the BrickArms toys.

"BrickArms is not licensed by LEGO Group to customize LEGO figures and has no links to the LEGO brand," the statement said.

"The LEGO Group is committed to developing toys which enrich childhood by encouraging imaginative and creative play — and does not endorse products that do not fit with this philosophy."

To me this is no worse than when I played with German soldiers when I was a kid.  They were the bad guys and I always blew their asses away!

As for the Concentration Camp, take that name away and call it Guantanimo Bay and I will have no issues.

Why do Muslims get so bent out of shape about everything?  Geeze...
People make fun of christianity and Jewdism all the time and for the most part people just shrug it off or go "ahhhah.. yea.. we do that.."

Anyway I think this is in somewhat badtaste.  However it is also very real.  Like Tank said, not much different then german soldiers.

The Muslims have been very quiet since the attrocities in India.

The fact that some were british is obviously something the British Muslim association is looking to divert everybodies attention from.

The fact that the terrorists were activly seeking out USA and UK citizens is obviously something that they would lke to wash over.

The fact that the terrorists were ALL aged 18 - 30 and were ALL male is something they will still deny even with the footage as proof (a bit like the holocaust) and still argue against for social profiling at security checks.

As I have said in the past ........... if the shoe fits.

Fu phlem them all ........... I dont give a flying fu phlem at a rolling donut if it offends them

It offends me that they exist in the first place ........ these so called holy men who preach war on non-believers.

It offends me that they seem to think that they are the only people in the world that should have things changed to suit them if it offends them.

Christmas offends them .............. the couple of days off of work to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ does not seem to offend them though.

Western consumerism and life style in general offends them ......... yet they flock to our shores to get their own slice of that MTV pie .........

F U PHLEM them all.

[curse]

EDIT

I am gonna buy me a grip load of these and set fire to them one by one.

Then I'm gonna take whats left and feed it to some pigs.

This is again pathetic and only meant to incite.  You've got a point?  You've got a beef?  Then freaking do something about it.  There's a whole organization that is now hiring that will allow you to express yourself up close and personal.  It's called the army.   Take them out back and end them.  Don't create something to incite a crowd, gain sympathy and ruin the argument for taking them out back to begin with.  People who pervert children's toys to pretend like they are relevant and have something insightful to say are the hollow timber that when set alight burns down whole cultures.  Pathetic.

when i was a kid I blew up, melted, ripped apart and destroyed thousands of toy German soldiers.

Today there is no conflist with the Germans and the past is to old as most everyone alive today was NOT in the war. However, muslim conflict is in our faces every day.

I mean it's not like they make them with huge knives and blindfolded civilians with detachable heads. Although that too would be accurate if nothing else.

Like the concentration camp, I want one of these. Santa, take notice!

I agree to the most part with what you say here Rob........... if I were young enough I probably would sign up to serve my country during this conflict. I am however, too old and have experianced both sides of this incitement. So for the most part, this is what I have to vent with ......... I cant speak out loud for fear of race hate or religeous hate crime, so if its something like this, then so be it. I think these shock value items are needed more and more to remind people that these hard core terrorists are not going away, and to remind us all of what they are responcible for in the past.

Watching Aljisera TV in both the middle East and Africa I have seen the proud hard core fathers march out their toddler sons complete with vests and guns, I have seen the same proud fathers march out there sons with faces covered and bomb vests attached to them, seen them excite their sons to the point of frenzy for them to burn the Stars and Stripes and the Union Jack.

These are the same people who are complaining the loudest about these Lego style figures.

I like em ............... I know they are toys that are being exploited ............ which takes it home even more for me because it sticks a digit up at the same hard core terrorists attitude for parading their children in front of cameras with AK47's and rocket launchers.

I used to have the same disgusted and shocked attitude that you have, and rightly so, but I am numb to the constant need for our society to be politically correct and to bend over backwards for these people ................ it is exactly this that they prey on and I believe it is this that will lose us the war in the end.

I will give back my social acceptance when they learn to accept me and my kind for what we are .............. ask me to be politically correct when they are prepared to be politically correct in return.

Until then ................ roll out Burka Barbie
