Are you an Engineer? Or do you know what an arduino is?

You're all right... but where's your sense of adventure??! Smile
Seriously I've ruined entire humidors because recurring calendar events didn't work.
So risking a humidor to try it out doesn't scare me.

The thing is when you're (read I'm) managing multiple humidors, and the recurring calendar reminder goes of while you are work, or out of town things slip.
It's especially unforgiving during a midwest winter.
I suppose these days my smart phone may be smart enough to only remind me when I'm actually at home... but I'm over finding a humi full of hard dried stogies.
(it's a sad thing)

Does the oasis have a low water alarm? I know my hydra has one, and damn that things annoying. Seriously, a fate worse than death is for my lady to be woken up in the middle of the night due to that distant alarm sounding off because the hydra is low on water. Holy cow, wake her up once and you'll NEVER forget to check the water levels in that puppy again.

No there is no low water alarm - REALLY wish it had one of those.

Maybe what I could build (to avoid the flood risk) is an arduino powered low level alarm.
That would be a good compromise!

You can do that very easily with an ultrasonic sensor.. do you want it networked or standalone with a speaker?

Oh Snap!
I hadn't considered networked!!i could make the thing txt me! Smile
But a speaker would do the job.

Honestly failing something cool I may just try ditching the oasis for some good ol' kitty liter.

You made a solid point and now I'm wondering where my sense of adventure went...
I am curious to see where this goes.

Yup... It's not too hard to network them...

meant no disrespect to with the sense of adventure line. Just being cute.
Also meant no disrespect to Kitty Litter - I was quite serious. The oasis is cool, but doesn't seem to out performing silica gel in any measurable way.
