Analog-style Digital Hygrometer
#11
I was thinking of getting one of these myself. The cost has been putting me off a bit (though you can easily buy them cheaper than $45). They aren't all that new, Famous Smoke Shop has had them for quite awhile - their sole review of it is from Jan 1 of last year.

There don't seem to be a lot of reviews, the one at Famous complains that it 'lost accuracy over time' (duh, maybe he needs to change the battery), over at Humidor Vault there's a couple:

Please do let us know how she works. I'm really surprised that more digital hygros aren't made to look a bit better and match the classic look many humidors and their fittings have. I would likely plunk down the money if this is indeed an accurate, quality piece. I hate inaccuracy, but I hate the cheap plastic digital clock look of most digital hygros almost as much. In two of my humis, I have calibrated analogs mostly for looks but XiKar digitals hidden in there too for reference. Smile

Like he said, they are for ascetics. I have a box of them somewhere if you give me a measurement I might have 1 to fit you can have that are new if you want one. The ones I have came from these places.

I'm not sure you understood. I know the analogs are crap...that's why I'm looking at this one. It's digital. It just LOOKS like an analog - look closer at the picture and i think you can tell. The idea is to have the digital accuracy but the look and feel of the analog. I don't like having an inaccurate hygrometer on the front of my humidor.

I love it. And agree. As for the price, well, I spent close to 4 grand on my humidors, countless thousands on cigars & think nothing of plunking down more than that on a lighter or cutter. Hell, I probably spent more than that buying water. I say go for it. I'm sure it's as accurate as any other digital. Maybe more so.
