Skipper the cigar aFISHinodo Wrote:fishhound Wrote:One small correction Skip. If you supply less voltage you will draw more amps.
P= IxE Power (watts) is equal to I (amps) times E (volts)
sorry fish...
ohms law
i=e*r. EMF is lower, r is constant and therefore I is less. No way there will be the same power. It is less power. You are correct if we are trying to get the same power from less voltage (or EMF), but that is not the case (again, R is constant). Savvy?
(I completed all the courses for an EE except I want to an arts school & you can't get an engineering degree form an arts school)
In theory both points are correct. There needs to be more known about the circuit, because there is too many variables to be considered. What you say is true in a 100% resistive circuit. Will not be true with circuits consisting of inductance, or capacitance.

I agree, but remember, this is DC. So toss out inductance. Capacitance... I'm thinking the first thing the battery sees is a transistor or a resistor to step down the voltage to something around .6 volts.

The bottom line....the batteries will work.

after reading this thread i now feel like the stupidest man on the planet. first for paying way too much for what i don't evidently need and secondly that whole mathematical laws pf physics something or other formula that yeah well wtf?

I feel so small around all of these highly educated people.

We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered.
