2018 Canning the Sauce

Had a lot going on this year with my son's wedding and death in the family but there was no way the sauce wasn't getting done.

I was able to pick up the plum tomatoes yesterday and got them done today. Lucky for me one place still had a few bushels left.

I saw that the Jelly man did his about two weeks ago.
Here are the pics:

Boiling them to get them soft for the machine:

Here's my lifesaver. This machine separates the skins / seeds from the sauce:

I always look forward to seeing this thread. Yeah the pictures are great, but it's the family tradition behind it that makes it so awesome!

I'm hoping next year you can do a video of the jarring process, for my wife & I to see how it's done. She's though of doing it herself, but not sure of the whole technique yet.
